Appalachian Traverse

Buck Run, Pennsylvania

The former Buck Run mine site has been through a series of dramatic changes in the past one hundred and fifty years transitioning from lush forest to working mine to recovering landscape. As the economy of the anthracite coal region changes, the function of this site is undetermined. These generated a path of points that both revealed the highly manipulated nature of the site and encouraged bodily interaction it’s physical conditions.
